Deep Tissue Massage
What is Deep Tissue Massage?
Deep tissue massage is used to address specific, painful or stiff “trouble spots” in your body. The massage therapist uses slow, deliberate strokes to apply a focused pressure on specific layers of muscles, tendons, and other tissues deep beneath the skin, known as fascia. Deep tissue massage can be therapeutic though less rhythmic than other techniques.
What are the Benefits of Deep Tissue Massage?
Intended to treat injuries, pain and stiffness, deep tissue treatment can help loosen and soothe tight muscles, improve blood flow, and promote healthy healing of muscle adhesions and scar tissue. This is especially beneficial for individuals who suffer from chronic pain, including back and neck pain, fibromyalgia, sciatica, or arthritis. It is also successful in treating sports or exercise injuries, or as an added measure of preparation for athletes focused on high-intensity training.
